This fermenting lids pack contains 4 silicone airlock lids and stainless steel bands. The airlock lids allow pressure to be released from the system as it builds up during fermentation without letting any air in. They can be used during both fermentation and storage. Ideal for using to make your own sauerkraut, kimchi and other lacto-fermented pickles and drinks.
Size:
The lids and bands fit our Ball mason jars with wide mouth openings. We find the Ball wide mouth pint, pint and a half and quart to be good sizes. For extra large batches, try to Ball wide mouth half gallon!
The outer diameter of the jar (including the thread) needs to be approx. 86 mm. If you are measuring the outer diameter of the rim of the glass, then this will need to be approx. 80-81 mm.
