Instructions for use:

• For preserving, these jars are suitable for water bath
• Hold the rubber ring on the underside of the lid then place onto the jar and clamp shut
• Two clamps are used for water bath canning
• While some customers do reuse the rubber rings, it is recommended to use a new rubber ring with each preserve
• To open a vacuum sealed jar, pull on the tab on the rubber ring to release the vacuumFreezer-safe - for fridge or freezer storage, the plastic Keep Fresh lids are recommended

• Weck was founded in Germany in 1900 and is one of the best-known glassworks in Germany. They produce glass jars for both commercial and home use.
• Weck jars are technically known as soda-lime jars. They consist of ~70% quartz sand, 10% lime, 13% soda, and small amounts of dolomite (making it less sensitive to temperature fluctuations), feldspar and sodium sulphate (which helps to prevent the formation of bubbles). Recycled glass is a major component.
